Resin-bound patios are porous. They allow water to pass through and be absorbed by the sub-base and sub-soils beneath the resin. So this prevent water entering the storm drains (thus reducing flooding). These surfaces are made by mixing resin with aggregates (such as gravel or stone), creating gaps between the particles that allow water to drain through, reducing the risk of puddles.
